Welcome to Cordeaux Academy

It has been a very busy year as usual, with a final term full of surprises.  This term brought us the news that Cordeaux Academy has been re-brokered and as from September 1st 2017 will transfer from the AET to the Tollbar Family of Academies.  For the next academic year this will see us retain the name Cordeaux Academy and our current uniform* and, following consultation, the plan being that from September 2018 Cordeaux will merge with the newly formed Louth Academy as one school.  As the decision was taken late in the term it has meant there remains aspects of policy and procedure that are yet to be confirmed; as developments are finalised we will be informing parents accordingly.

To headline other news, we said goodbye to our Y11 students in style as they celebrated at their end of year Prom, it was a wonderful evening and a fitting celebration of their time at Cordeaux.  Sports Day was another highlight along with other recent sporting successes, most notably some outstanding performances at the District Athletics Championships which saw a number of new records being set by Cordeaux students.

Y10 Work Experience week again was a tremendous success with much positive and glowing feedback from employers and students alike.  We would like to extend a huge thank you to all those employers who kindly agreed to support us in this valuable initiative.

Finally, we say goodbye to a number of colleagues who will be leaving the Academy and will be moving on to pastures new, we wish them all every success.

A reminder to students and parents that the BTEC Post 16 results day is Thursday 17th August and the GCSE results day is Thursday 24th August 2017.  We will be open from 10:00am on both of these dates.

It only leaves me to thank you all for your continuing support particularly during this period of transition and to wish you all a lovely summer.

 * our uniform remains the same for the next academic year with the exception that trousers are now compulsory for girls.

 Kind regards

Patrick Daley, Principal
